Prosperity Lamps and Components Limited is one of the largest manufacturing and trading companies in lamps, lighting fixtures and components in Hong Kong. The firm was established in 1978. In the past two decades, with the strenuous effort of staff and reliable support from business partners, it has fast developed into an international company.
Starting in the early eighties, a wide range of products has been marketed under the Group's own brand KANDOlite. Products selling under this brand is now well recognized in the world lighting market.
In 1989, Prosperity set up a joint-venture factory with Foshan Lighting and Electrical Co. Ltd, the QL lamps and Components Ltd to manufacture high quality lamps.
In 1995, Prosperity Lamps and Components Limited, Osram GmbH (a subsidiary of Siemens) and Foshan Lighting and Electrical Company Limited formed a joint-venture plant in China - Osram Foshan Co Ltd to manufacture a wide range of lighting products for local and overseas market.
In 1996, Prosperity and Osram set up a joint-venture enterprise in Hong Kong, Osram Prosperity Limited to market lighting products manufactured by Osram and Prosperity in Hong Kong and Macau territories.
In the same year, Prosperity reached an agreement with Siteco (former Siemens Lighting Division) as the exclusive distributor and manufacturer of Siemens and Siteco brand lighting fixture in China, Hong Kong and Macau.
To further secure the China market , in 1997 Prosperity established a wholly-owned factory in Langfang, Hebei Province - Prosperity Electric (China) Company Limited to manufacture lighting fixture and lamps, important components and parts are imported from overseas.
